My grandfather was a composer in the 40s, 50s and 60s. A song that he wrote for Billie Holliday was the flip side of "God Bless The Child" and no royalties have been paid to either him or his co-writer Frank Reardon. They are both deceased now. Before my grandfather Ernest G Schweikert passed away, he took every composition he had ever written and threw it in the garbage because he was so heartbroken over this! I recently found over 200 beautiful songs that he wrote and rescinded the copyrights. I'm going after the publishing company that never paid him and still dont pay his estate! Im also going to Congress about this problem in the beginning of next year to get section 114 of US copyright law changed! You can help in these changes and make a difference. I just found out that this publisher is also selling SHEET MUSIC of the song now which has also been re-recorded by Madeleine Peyroux. NO MONEY...NO ROYALTIES! Everyone is paying on time except the Publisher! How many of you have been in these shoes? It needs to end and it needs to end NOW! It's unfair! Songwriters hardly get paid anything in comparison to what everyone else makes on record sales to begin with...the least the publisher could do is PAY THE DAMN WRITER THEIR ROYALTIES! If you wanna help change the dishonesty in the music business simply buy a copy of this sheet music and send me a copy of the printed statement that this has been purchased I will use that in my litigation! !
